Marybeth WeinstockClinical Psychologist & Dance Instructor
Marybeth Weinstock, PhD, BC-DMT has been in the dance world from a young age. She wrote her doctoral dissertation in Clinical Psychology on Women Dancers in Midlife: Coping with the Transition. While writing her dissertation, she studied dance with Anna Halprin, who certified her to teach Movement Ritual and invited her to be in her Advanced Performance Lab. As a young dancer in New York, Marybeth studied with Alwin Nikolais, Murray Louis, and Hanya Holm. She has an undergraduate degree in Dance and Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy. Marybeth works part time at The Lotus Collaborative in Santa Cruz where she leads groups and provides trainings. She has a private practice in Pacific Grove where she sees individuals, couples, and families and leads an Eating Disorders Support Group. She is also a certified facilitator for The Body Positive.
